Very sorry to hear of Warren's passing. He was a great friend of the Stanley Family in Lyttelton.
I always enjoyed his visits and phone calls. A great mariner who will be missed. Condolences to the family.

Dear Hilary, Genevieve and family.
It is with sadness that I read of Warren's passing, l offer my condolences at this sad time.
It is with fondness and respect that I remember my numerous dealings with Capt. Warren from my early days farming mussels with rafts at Mills Bay and later using Warren at an expert witness at resource concent hearings.
A true gentleman in every respect.

Warren was a very special friend of mine for almost 70 yrs. We met when he was 3rd Mate on the Limerick, a 6000 ton cargo ship sailing from the UK across the North Atlantic to America, and later down to Australia.
I described Warren in the diary I kept at that time as ‘'a bubbling, enthusiastic little man.’’
I noted the place sprang into life when he came on the scene.
He already had a picture of Genevieve on his bedside table, and it was no surprise at all when they married.
They became a wonderful team who were my most treasured friends.
