Ruurd 'Ray' Gaastra

Passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Bethsaida Rest Home aged 89 years.

At the end Ray was surrounded by family who have such love and respect for him

and who will miss him enormously. His good advice and kind guidance in life will be remembered

and called upon for years to come.

Loved Father of Paula, Ingrid and Avril, father-in-law to Jimmy, Rutger and Mike,

beloved Grandfather to Samantha, Delisle, Dylan, Reuben, Elenor, Isobel and Romy,

Great Grandfather to Te Anu, Quentin, Azaleah, Ivana, Tiarlei, Tai & Jayda,

adored family friend of Kerrie, Grant and Silver and brother to Henk (d), Evert, Jitske & Alt.

The family would like to thank the nursing team and all the staff at Bethsaida

who cared so wonderfully for Dad over the last 6 months.

You made a difficult time easier and managed his care with dignity and respect

and we will remember that.
