Norma Sylvia Scott (née Thwaites and previously Evans)

With sadness, we are saying farewell to Norma, who passed away on November 12th, 2025, aged 91 years.
Norma was the cherished mother of the late Michael (Mike) Evans and mother-in-law of Sherril.
Devoted wife of the late Jim Scott. Loving sister of the late Brian and late Bruce Thwaites and sister-in-law to Anne-Marie Thwaites and the late Lorraine Thwaites. Inspiring Aunty to Kim and Richard Thwaites and families. Loved cousin to Roger, Gillian, Peter and families, and the Messervey cousins and families.
Norma was a strong, smart and hardworking lady, who fought until the end. Her smile was infectious and her wise counsel was always appreciated. She loved nature and was fighting fit for the majority of her life. Rest in peace now Norma, and enjoy your time with your son, husband and brothers.

I so wish my son and I had meet more of Norma's family but until recently I had been living in Perth. Norma was an intelligent and strong woman (had to be to put up with my Dad) who welcomed myself and siblings into her life -
which wasn't easy as there are ten of us. I was hoping to get up to Blenheim now I am back in NZ but the drive
from Central Otago is a bit much for me now.
My son Kane and I are very sad to hear of her passing and hope you are all coping with such a great loss.
