Boesy was my boss when I was a teen for many summers at the Lake Grassmere Saltworks … taught me heaps and helped me buy my first car. And, keen fisherman. A top man whom I respected and ‘worth his salt’. I regret to hear of his passing and condolences to his family. An Awatere and Marlborough legend … go well on your next journey Boesy.

I remember Uncle John as a kind and hardworking man. Full of pride in his family. I have fond memories of visiting you all when John worked at the saltworks and when he visited us in Cust,
off on an adventure in his campervan with his dinghy on the back.
My deepest sympathy To Sharee, Carolyn, David and Graeme. The memories that you made with your
father you can never lose, hold on to these and cherish them every day.
Sorry I can’t be with you on Thursday.

Farewell John. I will always remember my first day at the saltworks when you and Peter Thomas sent me
to the store man, Don Stewart, for a " long weight" (wait). It sure was.
Thanks for the initiation and the education. Been a good friend ever since.
RIP John.
