Loved by many, a graveside service for Don will be held on Thursday 16 April at 2.00pm at the Natural Burial area at Fairhall Cemetery. In Don's words, he wanted his passing to be a celebration of life
(no need for sombre clothing).
In lieu of flowers, Don suggested donations to Greenpeace or UNICEF via their website.

Have just heard of Don’s death. So very sorry to hear, as a fellow Scotsman, we shared much in common and Jaki and I just wish to pass on our condolences . A great psychiatrist who did a lot for his community. Farewell Don.

I have just heard that Don has died. He was the first psychiatrist I worked with as a registrar and the first as an SMO.
I learnt a lot from Don - he was a kind and compassionate psychiatrist in an era when many weren’t. And had a delightful sense of humour. These things meant that we could forgive him always being late!
He made great contribution to psychiatry in Christchurch.

Deepest Sympathy to the Quick Family for the loss of their loved one.
Don resonants with a quite strength, compassion, a care for people and the natural world. As a doctor, he gave his not only care, but knowledge, time and his humanity; touching countless lives with kindness and dedication to his patients.
A leader to his collagues, a steady and trusting presence.
He is no longer with us but his influence continues and the memories created for those who knew him. RIP
Irene langham, Nurse( collegue Christchurch,Marlborough)
