Catherine, you were a very special lady who will forever be part of our chosen family. We met over 24 years ago in Blenheim when you were Jack’s beloved ‘CB’ and we were new parents to Joe. The friendship that grew from there was a big part of our lives as we enjoyed adventures together to the park, beaches, Picton and further afield to Hanmer Springs. You had a gift with children and over the years you would look after several families with your joyful laugh and kindness. When Henry arrived you were an amazing support to us and this was cemented when you became the boys’ Godmother at their baptisms. Even after moving overseas we saw you regularly on our trips to NZ and, in 2012, when you joined us in Thailand for a lovely holiday. More recently we have returned to live in Auckland and visited you three times, including enjoying one of your delicious meals, an early Christmas dinner, as a family. Catherine, you were a lady of many talents; an excellent gardener with an eye for design in your remodelling and redesigning homes and gardens (you loved to paint!), a fabulous cook and baker, always immaculately dressed, you knew how to stretch a dollar. Your laugh was infectious. You were so proud of Joe and Henry’s achievements and they have such fond memories of all the time you spent with them, the board games, bike rides, swimming...You’ve bravely fought a long battle with your health - fly free now lovely lady, time to rest…Moe mai rā. Love always, Susan, Julian, Joe and Henry Brosnahan

Saddened to hear of Catherine's passing. She was a fantastic lady, we enjoyed our time together and the many things you did for lan and I. You will be sadly missed.
